Our Quick Family Trip to Las Vegas: Highlights and Recommendations!
Recently, we embarked on an exciting trip to Las Vegas with our big family of six, kids aged between 6 and 15. We were pleasantly surprised to find that Sin City is more family-friendly than we had anticipated!
1. Mandalay Bay Hotel: This place felt like a vacation all on its own. From chilling by the beach-inspired pool to discovering delightful sand sculptures and indulging in their Bayside Buffet, it was a hit! We relished some sweets from Lick, a candy shop in their forum shops. The room was comforting, and the staff was beyond accommodating. Mandalay Bay will certainly be our top choice on our next Vegas visit. Plus, parking there gives you access to parking at all MGM properties!
2. Mandalay Bay Beach: An unexpected paradise! With wave pools, a lazy river, and expansive lagoons, it’s a watery wonderland. There are also numerous spas, and the sandy setting makes it hard to believe you’re in the desert. For us, the beach experience was an unforgettable highlight.
3. Haus of Gaga: At Park MGM, we were treated to an amazing exhibition of Lady Gaga’s iconic outfits. From her famous meat dress to towering ballet shoes and a lobster hat, it was a treat for all music lovers in our family.
4. Tournament of Kings: This dinner show at Excalibur was pure medieval magic! With its interactive setting, the kids loved the cheering, the immersive battles, and the unique hands-on dining experience.
5. Big Apple’s Virtual Reality Roller Coaster: This thrilling ride at New York-New York is a teen favorite! The coaster offers a dual experience: real-world views of Vegas and a virtual reality spin through New York.
6. Shark Reef Aquarium: Situated in Mandalay Bay, this aquarium boasts unique marine species and offers close encounters with sharks and stingrays. It’s a deep dive into aquatic wonders in the heart of the desert.
7. La Pizza e La Pasta at Eately: Nested in Park MGM, Eately offers an authentic Italian experience. From mouthwatering pasta to heavenly pizzas and delectable desserts, it’s a culinary journey we all cherished.
8. KISS Themed Mini-Golf: Located at the Rio, this glow-in-the-dark mini-golf arena set to the tunes of KISS was an unexpected find and a big hit with our family!
9. Crazyshakes at Black Tap: At the Venetian, we indulged in these mammoth milkshakes, and while we had our favorites, each one was an explosion of flavors.
Las Vegas, with its diverse offerings, made sure there was something for every member of our family. From hotels to entertainment to dining, our short trip was packed with moments that we will cherish forever!
