This custom helps us craft unique summer moments, making them delightful reminiscences to reflect upon later!

This summer, we added a ropes course to our list! I was keen on finding a location suitable for my youngest, who’s just 4, and also engaging for the adults!

Our choice was TreeRunner Adventure Park, located in the Raleigh/Durham region of North Carolina. Dive into our family’s journey and continue reading to discover a lively summer checklist printable for your family!

A Sneak Peek into TreeRunner Adventure Park

Our visit to TreeRunner Adventure Park was seamless. We arrived roughly 10 minutes early and the check-in was a breeze. Here’s a guide to what you might experience during your trip:

  1. Booking and Safety Protocols
The TreeRunner portal is user-friendly, letting you reserve the exact time, date, and pass type for your group. I managed to consolidate bookings for both adult and Junior Park passes in a single transaction.

After booking, an online safety waiver can be completed. This is a real timesaver and super convenient post-reservation. However, if you miss this step, be sure to come a bit earlier for onsite paperwork. A 15-minute prior arrival is recommended by TreeRunner.

  1. Gear Up and Safety Check
There’s an area for relaxation and games while you await your turn. As my family engaged in a game of corn hole, the staff prepped our harnesses in no time.

They meticulously demonstrated harness usage and ensured we were safely strapped in.

Following this, we were trained on using the Click-Its and the zipline trolley. Each member got hands-on practice, with staff assistance as required.

  1. Equipment Demonstration
An expert then introduces you to the basics at the ground level. They showcase how the Click-Its mechanism ensures you’re always secured to the course.

This ingenious system means you’re always connected while navigating, promoting self-reliance on the ropes course.

The instructor then familiarizes everyone with the park’s layout, rules, and the specific do’s and don’ts.

  1. Hands-On Ground School Course
Next, you get to practice! It takes a bit to get used to the Click-Its, but soon enough, we were all set to embark on our adventure.
  2. Climbing the Initial Rope Net
The real fun at TreeRunner Adventure Park begins instantly. To access various challenges, you initially scale a rope net leading to the primary deck.

From this hub, numerous routes extend, leading to any of the seven adventure tracks. The design is convenient, minimizing unnecessary backtracking.

  1. Embarking on a Beginner Trail
It’s imperative to clear an entry-level trail before progressing to intermediate and advanced levels. But starting with these beginner routes is beneficial. Their difficulty rises noticeably!

Three Basic Tracks include Pink, Yellow, and Green. Each route boasts a variety of tasks, from balancing acts to tightropes. For added thrill, try navigating without holding onto support ropes!

  1. Progress and Keep Exploring!
Post the initial course, you can either retry a basic route or elevate the thrill level! In total, there are seven diverse tracks:
  • 2 Intermediate Courses: Blue and Purple
  • 2 Expert Courses: Black and Red

For those seeking an adrenaline rush, the expert tracks, positioned at towering heights and posing tough challenges, will not disappoint!
