Summer is swiftly approaching, and it ushers in one of my all-time favorite festivities – Independence Day on July 4th! The heart of summer, marked by brilliant sunshine and a break from work, always reminds me of collective celebrations, whether in a park or over a grill, culminating with the sparkle of fireworks.

Embracing the vibe of the upcoming sunny season and my fondness for the iconic red, white, and blue, I’m thrilled to present a special Patriotic Layered Smoothie recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen Banana
  • 1 cup Vanilla Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup frozen Cherries
  • 1/2 cup frozen Blueberries
  • 1 cup Acai Juice
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 1/2 cup Ice

Steps to Whip Up a Patriotic Layered Smoothie:

  1. In your blender, mix 1/4 banana, 1/4 cup yogurt, 1/2 cup cherries, 1/2 cup acai juice, and 1/2 cup ice. Process until silky and pour into 3-4 glasses, ensuring the sides remain tidy. Chill in the freezer for about 30 minutes. This will form your vivid red layer.
  2. For the creamy middle layer, blend 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup yogurt, 1/4 cup milk, and 1/2 cup ice until smooth. Distribute this amongst the glasses, maintaining the glass’s neatness. Again, let it rest in the freezer for around 30 minutes.
  3. Finally, for the blue layer, blend 1/4 banana, 1/4 cup yogurt, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup acai juice, and 1/2 cup ice. Once blended to perfection, pour into the 3-4 glasses, taking care not to mess the sides. Let it sit in the freezer and serve when all layers are set and distinct. Enjoy!
