A Day to Remember: Our Adventure at Carowinds
Adventure runs in my veins, and roller coasters? They’re my jam. Lucky for me, my boys share my love for the thrill! Our day at Carowinds Theme Park was an experience like no other. And guess what? I gathered a treasure trove of tips that any newbie to the park would appreciate. Armed with these, you’re set to have a blast at Carowinds!
Our Big Surprise Trip to Carowinds
We marked our calendar, planned our journey to Carowinds in secret, and unveiled our surprise the night before. The excitement on their faces? Priceless! Being just a short drive from our home in Raleigh, Carowinds was the ideal spot for a weekend adventure.
With its catchy slogan, “Where the Carolinas come together!”, Carowinds straddles two states. My kids loved hopping between North and South Carolina. Our exploration began from Carousel Park, moving counter-clockwise. We tried out various rides, from Vortex to the Carolina Cyclone, marveling at the diverse attractions.
Midway through, we relished a delightful meal at Juke Box. Splitting our squad, my husband and our eldest embarked on the thrilling Fury 325, while I ventured with the younger ones to experience Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare – a 3D extravaganza!
Young Adventurers’ Delight: Camp Snoopy
Camp Snoopy is a dreamland for young ones. The cool shade and variety of rides make it perfect. We even got a photo with Linus at the entrance! From the Snoopy vs Red Baron ride to the bouncing ATVs of Pig Pen’s Mud Buggies, the little ones were in awe. Newly introduced attractions such as Camp Bus and Woodstock Whirlybirds added to the excitement.
Evening Magic at Carowinds
My eldest son and I had our adrenaline fix on the Intimidator. What a thrill! We also embarked on a penny-smashing quest, securing a unique Snoopy design. Wrapping up our day, we captured a snapshot with the majestic Fury 325 in the background. We’re already plotting our return!
If you’re local, considering a season pass is a smart move. Plus, young children between 3-5 can get a free Pre-K pass. Kids under two? They get in free.
